2. US Expects Crew’s Prompt Release. The Us vice president made the statements yesterday, but at the same time. China’s vice premier reiterated that a US apology is required. The US and China are in “intense” discussions to free the detained crew of an American spy plane. Vice President Dick Cheney said yesterday, adding that he expects the crew members to come home soon.(20%)

3. Information is the communication or reception of knowledge or intelligence concerning some particular fact, subject, or event; or knowledge communication and obtained form investigation, study, or instruction.

Communication is a process, which involves at least two parties. This process can be characterized as a set of activities involving a sender with intentions to convey, a medium or channel for carrying singals and a receiver who has the ability to interpret those signals. As defined communication as above, acgored to the intentions of the agents and their ability to interpret, this is best seen as a social phenomenon.

Information Commutations means information producers transmitting meaningful information via designed categories according to consumption needs through media to information consumers.

ACRL President Betsy Wilson hosted a lively discussion at the ACRL President’s Discussion Forum during the ALA Midwinter Meeting in Washington D.C. The forum highlighted three academic libraries that have shown leadership in partnering within their communities to build more enriching environments. The success of the featured partnerships demonstrated unlimited potential for librarians to show leadership in reaching out to groups beyond the campus borders. With vision and commitment, collaborative outreach programs can translate into concrete actinides that are exiting, energizing. and often unexpectedly rewarding to all.

Wilson believes that collaboration is critical to the success of libraries today.

As community leaders turn to libraries for help I solving social problems, we are in a unique position to share the depth and breadth of our knowledge base and training.
